Background Information
Personal History:
Ayden was born to a small family in Colorado Springs, Colorado in the year of 1968. She was born a twin and her brother, James and her, grew up very close alongside their older brother David. Her father was an Air Force Officer, a pilot, and the family moved often, never staying in one place for more than two or three years, which had been rough on the children but they all learned to deal with it rather well. Ayden, unlike other children in her class, was extremely gifted when it came to learning, and by the time she was in first grade tested in at a genius level for an IQ test. She was able to jump ahead a few grades and even though she was the youngest child in her class she did exceptionally well.Family:
She graduated high school by the age of fifteen and went to college early, receiving a bachelors in anthropology, like her mother, by the time she was seventeen. Studies were always extremely important to the young woman and seeing how she wanted to follow in the footsteps of her father, she applied for the United States Air Force Academy. She was accepted and chose Linguistics and Archaeology as her majors while she attended there. She graduated at the top of her class and instead of taking the path she wanted, the young woman went to flight school. She longed for her father's approval and she thought that by following in his footsteps in every way possible she would get it.
It didn't take long for Ayden to receive her certification and at first she was stationed near her home, on a military base where she didn't have to do much but she kept herself busy with her day-to-day tasks of military life as well as putting her head to the books to gain a few more degrees under her belt. In addition to her bachelors degree, the young woman eventually received masters and then down the line PhD's. Studies like that weren't her only passion though. This young woman had been taking self-defense classes since she was a child and mastered many different types, her favorite being Filipino Kali.
Ayden was first introduced to the Stargate Program in 1997, after ten years of being involved in the military. She was almost immediately enthralled with everything that she was offered and enjoyed spending time learning more under Doctor Daniel Jackson, someone with whom she always pictured as a role model to her. Working under him was her dream job and despite the fact she wasn't able to fly any longer (seeing how it was quite hard with her new assignment), she found herself falling in love with languages and cultures once again. At that point in time Ayden had been engaged to a young Marine whom she had met in Iraq, Chad. They had known each other for quite sometime and Ayden had fallen head over heels for him, thinking that she could have her forever story for once. That all came crashing down when he turned into a man she felt like she didn't even know. He abused her and belittled her, destroying her sense of self-worth in every way possible. The engagement was called off when she walked in on him sleeping with her 'best friend' and she hasn't looked back since. They had broken up right before her transfer to Atlantis.
When the Pegasus Galaxy was discovered and the first teams were sent through the gate, Ayden volunteered to go, knowing that they would need someone with her expertise and knowledge in that Galaxy. She then spent the next year there, learning and completely loving everything about the new galaxy; it was something she never dreamed she would see so she took in every moment she spent there. With a new assignment heading her way, a transfer to the Delta site, Ayden knew that it was time to start fresh, even though she did not want to leave the Pegasus Galaxy. She did know that she had to go wherever her job called her to though so that is where she went.
Upon her arrival at the Delta Site, Ayden's old skills came back into play. She was made CO of one of the flight branches the base had and she was back up in the sky. Things went rather well for the first year and she enjoyed it, even met a young man, a Royal Marine, by the name of Alavair Leah, whom was able to help her get through the pains of the past. The two got married a few months later and things seemed to be going well for them for once. They were happy and despite all the danger they had in this new galaxy they were safe. Ayden really started to believe that things could look up for all of them until she was recalled to Earth to help with the Stargate Academy and her husband was left on the Delta Site. Ayden headed up the program at the SGA for two semesters before heading back to the Delta Site, this time with the Ida Task Force.
Since the closing of the Delta Site, Ayden continued on with her career as a pilot in the Air Force, racking up more flight hours than most other pilots, and focusing solely on her career, unable to think of her home life, her husband, or even her son. After a crash that nearly rendered her paralyzed, Ayden retired from the Air Force at the rank of Colonel and has since been recruited to the NID for not only her military background, but her academic background as well. She has made her way up through the ranks, and is now one of the chief advisors to the SGC.

Personality:
Ayden has made a name for herself within the United States Military. She outshone her fellow peers at the Academy, and after made it a point to show each and every one of her Commanding Officers and fellow military members that just because she was a woman didn't make her any less of an Airmen, a soldier, or a pilot. She is a force to be reckoned with, and although she comes off strong, she is not completely heartless. She has the heart of a warrior, and will always fight to see that justice prevails, whether it be on this world or another. She's extremely intelligent, using whatever free time she has to focus on furthering her academic accomplishments because despite how much she loves the military, she has always known that one bad mission could render her useless in that field.
She's a mother, but has never once considered herself to be motherly. She believes that showing emotions while at work could lead to your biggest downfall, so she has often focused solely on getting the job done and exceeding expectations. She will admit when she has made a mistake, but you can guarantee she will not make the same one twice. She's passionate about her work and takes pride in everything she does. She tries to instill the same work ethic onto her coworkers, and will go out of her way to help someone who is struggling. She has spent years building up the respect of those around her, and has reached the point in her life where whatever comments someone may make about her will not bother her.
She's a self-driven, self-motivated woman who is quick on her feet and a quick thinker. She has spent years honing her skills and has earned the respect of her colleagues. Her only motivation seems to be making sure anyone on her team makes it home in one piece to their family. After losing so many loved ones to various wars both within the Stargate Program and outside of it, she wants to make sure no other family has to go through the loss she has suffered.

Ayden had a way of always coming back to her roots, and being here at SGC once more made things no different. Despite how much time had passed since she originally joined the Stargate Program, she was always here, ready and rearing for a new adventure. What better way to feel her age than to be completely surrounded by people who had helped shaped her into the person she was now.
As nice as it was to see these familiar faces, Troy's especially, it was especially gut wrenching. These people had been there through some of the best, and some of the worst times in her life. They knew her husband, they knew how they met, and more importantly, they knew how he gave his life for this program, leaving behind her as a widow and their son fatherless. Ayden had put Al's death behind her years ago, but it was times like today that it reared its ugly head.
The Stargate Program had come so far over the years, and being here reminded her of where they all started out, back to the very beginning of their stories and it was a wonderful feeling of nostalgia rushed over her. Now was the time to catch up, to see where her colleagues had gone to, what paths their careers had taken them. It was time for the next chapter in their journey's and today was just the beginning.
