Character Application

To apply please copy-paste the application template at the bottom of this post and create a new thread with your character's name as the subject/title. Staff will review your application within 8-12 hours and provide any comments, questions or feedback they may have before giving final approval. At that point you are free to join the main plot and any Open Role Plays (ORPs) that are currently running. When applying keep in mind:

• Characters should be original creations and not clones of characters from Stargate or other media;
  
• Characters are not to be related to canon Stargate characters;
  
• No characters from parallel or alternate universes;
  
• Create a new forum account for each character;
  
• Keep in mind when creating characters that regular activity is expected - 2-3 posts in the main plot thread a week per character is ideal. We'd prefer you have one character and post every other day than have five characters and only post as each of them once a week, and
• Current roleplay date: July 2015.
  

Biological Information
Name: Your character's name, avoiding names of major SG characters such as O'Neill, Carter, McKay etc.
Callsign: Any callsigns or nicknames they go by
Gender: Male, female, or other.
Race: Which race is your character? Most likely this will be human/Tau'ri, but we are open to original races or those who appeared on SGD. We do not accept canon species from SG-1 or Atlantis (Jaffa, Satedans etc). Contact the staff if you have any questions.
Homeworld: Dependent on your race.
DOB: The date of birth for your character; please place their age in brackets.
Height: In meters and feet if possible.
Hair: Describe your character's hair, if they have any.
Eyes: Once again, straight forward.
Identifying marks: Any birthmarks, tattoos or distinguishing features of your character.

Professional Information
Occupation: Scientist, medical doctor, fighter pilot, combat engineer etc - please refer to the Positions Available thread.
Organization: The organisation (NASA, UK Government, Canadian Security Intelligence Service) or military service (US Air Force, Royal Marines) to which your character belongs.
Rank/paygrade: Please refer to SGD Rank Conversion and Civilian & Military Ranks & Paygrade.

Background Information
Personal History: Minimums: one paragraph for childhood, four paragraphs for adult life. Discuss where they've worked, their life experiences, their successes and the challenges they've faced. Military characters are encourages to provide a service report of positions and promotions in list form. Please provide an explanation of why, our of the 7 billion people on this planet, they were chosen to join the SGC.
Family: Provide names and details of their immediate and/or extended family.
Personality: Three or more paragraphs exploring the psychological side of your character. What are their strengths and weaknesses? What do they like or dislike? Get inside your character's head and explain what makes them tick. What are their fears, what drives them, how do they respond to events around them and how do they interact with others?
Ancient Gene: Does you character carry the Ancient gene, or have they undergone gene treatment?

Behind the Scenes
Face Claim: Also known as an avatar or played-by (PB) - the actor/actress that portrays your character. Please refer to the Face Claim list before applying.
Player: What you wish to be called out of character, and which country you reside in (which helps us know when you'll likely be online or not).

Roleplay Example: Three or more in-character paragraphs to demonstrate your style and skills. Should be an original post created for this site and revolve around your character within the Stargate universe.
