Personal History:
Victoria was born in San Diego, CA to Teddy and Heather Ramel. She grew up as the middle child with two brothers. Her father was an engineer working for a major robotics manufacturer while her mother worked as a registered nurse. In his spare time, her father built robots for competitive robotic combat and actually made in on a television program called Battle Bots. Naturally Victoria and her siblings took an interest in the sport. While her brothers lost interest over time, Victoria continued to tinker with her father until leaving for college. Growing up she watched news coverage of robotic probes and satellites being sent into space all the while listening to her dad tell her that the future of robotics was in the stars.
Victoria attended Carnegie Mellon University for her undergraduate work in mechanical engineering, with a minor in physics. Upon graduation, she continued on to her graduate work at the same university working under her mentor and program chair Dr. Kress to obtain her Masters in Nanophysics. Her graduate education and close relationship with Kress afforded Victoria the experience of traveling the world for their work spending both time in Europe at CERN and in China at IHEP. Upon completion of her advances degree she started work on her PhD, but transferred universities to follow her mentor to MIT. The Doctoral Program in Computational Science and Engineering with an emphasis on Aeronautics and Astronautics helped to shape Victoria's future.
Her first job outside of academia was for NASA working as design consultant. There she eventually lead a team that created a robotic repair unit that would help service and maintain the exteriors of the International Space Station as well as other unmanned, larger satellites. However budget cutbacks scaled down the R&D division with NASA, and Victoria found herself without a job - briefly. She was approached by the United State Air Force a week later, with a vague job description and a non-disclosure agreement. Apparently, she had worked on research under Dr. Kress that was actually funded/reviewed by the US government in regards to nanotechnology - technology she would later learn was procured for study through the Stargate Program.
In 2010, Victoria was transferred from the SGC to the Gamma Site on P7X-604 where she oversaw a team studying a recovered Wraith Dart and exploring options for integrating it's storage technology in our own space craft. The idea was to save space and resources by adding cargo and supplies into the storage unit for long voyages, particularly those outside of the Milkway Galaxy. However before headway could be made on the project, the research outpost was compromised by the Lucian Alliance resulting in the project being abandoned. Victoria and a small team of survivors from the attack found themselves trapped in an unknown tunnel network, and were considered MIA for three months until rescued by SGC personnel.
In 2013, Dr. Ramel was posted in Atlantis where she continued her research on nanotechnology, albeit in an extremely controlled and limited environment due to past incidents with similar Replicator technologies. She assisted in many projects both on the base as well as offworld, and actually was assigned to an off world team for the last two years of her time there - much to her dismay. However, due to a sudden break up, she requested transfer to another posting which landed her in the Delian Galaxy in February of 2015 as the assistant department head of scientific research.

Personality: Victoria is a nerd and a damn good one too. She is meticulous and calculated when it comes to her work and outright sloppy in regards to her personal life. She thrives best when working through things on her own, but upon joining the SGC she has made strides to better herself when it comes to working with others especially as she now finds herself in a leadership role with her research team. She is OCD and loves to be in control. She can come off as quite bossy but all things considered she is far from narcissistic. She can come off as sarcastic, but more in witty, fun way as opposed to sharp and degrading. She just lacks the patience and ability to teach well. Most importantly, she hates to repeat herself.
When things do not go as planned, Victoria can be calm and collected but when things blow up in her face (literally) she can use some talking down. However, she does thrive under pressure and with a deadline. Most often she does her best work with little sleep and lots of coffee. However she is happiest when she is showered and well fed.
Field work was never her forte. She finds meeting new people to awkward and sometimes rambles when forced to chit-chat. While she does not mind getting her hands dirty in the lab, she can be something of a girly-girl at heart and likes to look her best.

"I told you I am NOT cut out for this!"
She looked inside the the large cylinder shaped device, the access plate at her feet. The edges still smoked from where she had cut it off the hinges with her tool kit's grinding wheel. She cringed and made a shivering sound as she let the imagine before her sink in. Webs and webs of thick "silk" wove themselves through the now exposed insides. The sheer contrast of white web against the corroded copper wiring looked equally beautiful as well quite terrifying.
Automatic gun fire sounded from the doorway behind her, drowning out the sounds of the opposing energy blasts from outside.
"Doc we need to to shut that thing off NOW!" Yelled Major Dillon as he loaded another clip into his P90.
Victoria nodded, pale as she watched the not so spider looking creature scurry along the webs between her and the power source. What she thought to be the power source as of twelve hours ago when they first arrived to study the device. The team had come across what appeared to be an abandoned training grounds for some long gone race. The long gone part was right, but abandoned did not always mean following: old, broken, not longer functioning, out of power. Instead Corporal Briggs triggered the training drones, which were now trying to breach them room that they were in.
Ramel picked up her side arm, which was on the floor where she left it a few moments ago before rummaging through her tool kit. She aimed the Beretta at the creature, but finally lowered it. Too much risk of hitting the power source or anything else that might shut this crap off. Instead, she reached for the small grinding wheel and gave the trigger a squeeze, which turned the blade and gave off a mechanical vroom vroom sound.
"This will take care of you...maybe?"
