Personal History:
Elizabeth Houghton was born to Jim and Shirley Ann Houghton on November 29, 1980. She was raised in Manhattan. Her grandfather was an amateur magician and frequently brought her to the famous Drake's Magic Shop after school in her early teens, resulting in her fascination of the arts. She is also a comic book fan, having bought her first when she was 14 and envisioning herself as Elektra. She is also sports fan. Beth was a “free spirit” through high school. It was rumored her looks and rebellious behavior attracted several males. The rumor of her bed hopping was completely false. She spent one summer while in high school modeling as opposed to waitressing, eventually earning enough money to buy a 1994 Harley Softail Motorcycle, which she still rides, although her father strongly disapproves and once even threatened to send her to a nunnery.
On January 9, 1996, when she was 16, her mother, Shirley, was stabbed to death while on her way to meet with her former classmates for dinner. The detective in charge of the investigation, Detective John Raglan, was apparently never able to find the killer and attributed her death to random gang violence. Beth, though, believes that there was more to her mother's murder than a random killing. This was very similar to how the father of Katrina Logan-Walker had been murdered. As a very distant cousin, Beth flew to Virginia aiding Walker to her father's killer. Ironically, the same man who murdered Beth’s mom was the same killer of Katrina’s father. He was a serial killer with a record of 14 dead.
During the time Beth aided Logan-Walker, Katrina saw something in her that she hadn’t seen since her first mission in the Stargate Program. When Beth was asked to become a Federal Intelligence Agent, Katrina asked if Elizabeth would be interested in something new where her dedication and hard work could make a better difference than the new position being offered. Having been only with the Federal Intelligence Agency for a month, Elizabeth received a secure email about the events happening in the Stargate program. A letter of recommendation had been sent over to Troy Loveridge by Katrina as a replacement of sorts. It was then Beth decided it was time for a major change in her life.
Family: Jim and Shirley Ann Beckett (deceased - murdered)
Personality:
Elizabeth’s stout and directive personally always camouflages her real qualities since becoming a detective for such a high crime area in New York. She is a loyal adversary but a soft side underneath that only a few know. Her father took Shirley’s death hard and became an alcoholic. She was eventually able to help her father get through it, though. From then on, Beth has since worn her mother's wedding ring as a neck lace for "the life she lost" and her father's watch, an Omega Speedmaster Professional, a.k.a."Moonwatch", for "the life she saved".
On the other hand, her mother's death inspired Elizabeth to become a cop: to be a detective that actually looks for justice for the sake of the victims' families for the right reasons without 'pigeon-holing' crimes the way Detective Raglan did on her mother's case. She also was the detective who solved death of Katrina Logan’s father. Other than that, she also wanted a position in the force where she could investigate her mother's death further. She wants to make a difference no matter how big or small.

Elizabeth’s Apartment
1300 Hours
Elizabeth had been provided with an apartment to be close to the agency. It didn’t feel cozy like her home back in Manhattan, New York. The rooms were smaller and nothing hung on the walls. It just needed a woman’s touch. Beth was going to decorate and maybe repaint the walls and place in new carpet. She had just come home with a couple bags of groceries. The floor was squeaky, another thing she would attempt to have rectified. Beth grabbed her mail and went up to the apartment.
Walking to the kitchen, she placed the groceries on the island counter top. After putting the items away, the former homicide detective poured herself a glass of sweet white wine and sat on her beige plush couch. Her phone had buzzed during shopping, but decided to wait til she was home to read its content(s). She pulled out her smart phone and opened her mail. Beth didn’t recognize one email as the From field stated HIGHLY CLASSIFIED. The subject line read Opportunity. The following was the content of the message.
Dear Elizabeth,
This email is of the utmost importance to keep hackers and others from reading. Please delete this after reading and clear your Trash. I hope you are doing well. The reason for this email is to advise you of a very important intelligence mission coming up. Your talents were invaluable when you help to track down my father’s and your mother’s murderer. I will never forget your generosity and amazing techniques to place both our parents’ to rest by apprehending that monstrous killer.
Thank you for keeping the Stargate program discreet from the time we met to this present day. The issue I referred to is detrimental to our planet and all of the population. I have given you a top secret manifest as an attachment. Please print it and then delete it from your computer. Once you have finished reading, please destroy the paperwork. I am unable to accept the mission as I have retired to care for my new family. I believe you would make an excellent addition to the program and mission. Robert has a letter of recommendation to be handed to Troy Loveridge upon his arrival at the base. The matter is very dangerous and sensitive to our planet’s survival.
I know you will accept the invitation as per the conversation we had a month before your transfer from the police department to the Federal Intelligence Agency. You remind me a lot of myself with ambition and a genuine tenderness to make a difference. A black SUV will be at your apartment promptly tomorrow morning to make sure you are completely safe upon your arrival with this new assignment. Pack lightly and be safe cousin.
Love,
Katrina Logan-Walker
Beth became a little numb hesitantly thinking about the offer. She had always wanted to make a difference anywhere that would save lives. Having the population of Earth at stake sent a chill up the brunette’s spine. Skimming through the paperwork, Houghton became more intrigued and a bit nervous. Is this something I should do? Can I make that big a difference? As a Federal Intelligence agent and former homicide detective have enough potential to work alongside soldiers, and people higher up in their intelligence than my own.
Failure wasn’t an option.
Finishing her glass of wine, Beth went back on her laptop. She used Katrina’s personal email with just the words, “I’m in”. Shutting down the computer, the former detective strolled in the bedroom and began to pack for the new life she was about to experience.
