For the most part the SGC has continued unchanged in its mission to explore the galaxy, seek out advanced technology, and forge alliances with peaceful worlds. Notable recent changes include:

Major General Samantha Carter is the current base commander;
The former members of SG-1 (Cameron Mitchell, Daniel Jackson, Teal'c and Vala) have moved into other roles within the Stargate program, including Homeworld Command, the Fleet, and Area 51; and
No new SG-1 has been formed - the call-sign was retired as a tribute to the teams decade long struggle to free the galaxy from the oppression of the Goa'uld and later the Ori
