Personal History:
Stephanie was born in a midwestern town somewhere in the middle of no where Illinois. Her parents very very wealthy and so she lived on the cattle farm with her parents and her brother Gregory. When she was about 6, her older brother and both her parents were killed when a herd of cattle broke loose and stampeded them to death. She had been home with the babysitter when it happened. Gregory had been 12 yrs older than her so she never really had anyone around her age to play with. She was sent to social services as she didn't have any family that wanted to take her.
She bounced from foster home to foster home, blaming herself for her families death the whole time. She was a rebel in and out of trouble, she had been called every name in the book. When she was 16 she got pregnant and she had the baby but put him up for adoption and she hasn't kept in touch with him. When she was 18 she was given the choice to join the service or get the boot out of the house. Either way her foster parents wanted her out. She had tried to emancipate herself but since she couldn't hold a job down she had been denied 3 times. She got her GED before entering into the army and then went to college while in the army. She worked her way up and took a few classes in the service but never cared to put them to any use, they were merely just a formality to become an officer to her.
1995
Enlisted in United States Army at age 18 and entered into tactical defense training as infantry. Trained for almost a year in various training facilities across the United States including Sniper school and various other schools, in order to become a sniper. Stationed out of Fort Bragg, Georgia.
1996 -1997
Attached to hostage rescue team within the Army as a Sniper for two years on the United States home front. Stationed out of Fort Belvoir, Virginia
1998 - 2002
Commissioned to Rank of O-1 (2nd Lt) upon completion of college classes.
Kosovo - She was sent in for a one year stay to help with the NATO occupation of Kosovo as ground infantry injured in small scale bombing when shrapnel lodged itself in her shoulder and was released after in the hospital for a few weeks and sent back to active duty to finish out her deployment.
Sent back to the United States where she went into communications when she was given the opportunity to become reassigned she took it and went through more training classes. Assigned to Fort Knox, Kentucky
Promoted to Rank of O-2 (1st Lt) in 2000
Reassigned again to third unit and used in the communications field on home soil for homeland security support and redesigning many of the anti- hacking protections in some of the department of defenses systems by hacking into them and fixing bugs in the system. Stationed Fort Sill Oklahoma.
Promoted to Rank of O-3 (Cpt.) in 2002
2003 -2004
Transferred to the Pentagon Communication Division to help the intelligence division with some minor computer work but was sent back to the department of defenses homeland security sector to continue her work.
2005
Bulgaria- Their mission was simple.. well supposedly simple, disarm a bomb via satellite communication systems. However, they needed to be within range of the bomb's system and there was a leak among her unit, in which let out to insurgents that Stephanie was close to cracking the satellite systems. After these insurgents got a hold of the information they needed from the leak they shot Stephanie in the right arm and pretended to take her to the hospital. She woke up and they had her tied to a table and they were sharpening knives that were to be used to torture her to get information. She never did give up the information but the insurgents dispersed when another United States Army Unit was sent into the area to track terrorists, and some idiot figured with the occupation that everything would simply be bombed and left Stephanie to die. The bomb was inevitably disarmed by the other unit sent in when Stephanie's unit failed., Stephanie was believed to have been the only one out of her unit that survived Bulgaria and now she has major guilt issues due to this event.
2006 -2008
Treated for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Upon release of treatment in 2008 she was sent to Star-Gate Delta to help the base personnel with their communications systems after they requested her based on her previous experiences in the computer and communications department.
2009-2010
Medical Leave
from Delta
2010 - 2013
Married April 2011 to Ajay Martin
Transferred to Vedas Nov 2013 and remained there until being transferred again June 2015
Family:
Birth Parents: Don and Mary Amberson (Deceased)
Brother: Gregory Amberson (Deceased)
Son: Zachery Amberson (15)
Son: Devon Martin (3)
Personality:
Stephanie is not known for playing well with others. She doesn't trust anyone and will be the first one to bark orders if she feels someone needs to take action. She doesn't speak much unless its to give orders. She spends her time on the computer and is a glorified geek. She can get very rude with others and doesn't take orders from people very well, though the army has taught her to deal with it, it was either that or not survive. If she doesn't like you she will make it known, dont let her rudeness be misconstrewed for not liking you but she probably doesn't anyway. Stephanie takes everything personal and gets very defensive at times with her words.
When one breaks through her shell they might find a sense of humor, albeit a little misplaced and edgy (as she is). They will also find someone who has a heart and cares deeply for their team, even if they aren't the best at showing it. She's plays with her hair when its down. She can give orders but also knows how to take them. Sometimes she second guesses them (After what happened in Bulgaria). She is an organizational freak and will actually show some form of feelings towards others. (The occasional hug) when its needed most. She has a strong sense of will, honor, and persistence that drives her.
Deep down Stephanie is fearful and distrustful of people and doesn't like wearing her dog tags around her neck for fear of strangulation after her incident in Bulgaria. She finds it very hard to form relationships with people and screams like a girl when she sees spiders or any arachnid for that matter. She's been battling her PTSD off and on for the past few years but has been making headway.

Roleplay Example: Stephanie continued to watch and listen from across the cubicles. She narrowed her eyes listening to the one of the other officer's retort. "Ich hörte den" (I heard that). German sounded harsh especially coming from him. He backed away like a scared child though before he got a chance to speak his mind. It wasn't because of Alex's remark it was the woman now standing BEHIND Alex. The brunette didn't even have a chance to open her mouth yet before he was biting at his lip. She could hear others snickering in the background.
When she did open her mouth he scrambled back to his side of the divider and got to work quickly before someone else decided to put his input into the conversation. "Problems with your Greek Alphabet Madden." she literally sneered. Stephanie wasn't the head boss but with her Co on Vacation she inevitably was the senior officer in charge at the moment. The woman's eyes followed Connor until he was gone. "Connor Madden resident pain in the ass." she grumbled as she approached to greet the new recruit Alex, well what Stephanie would offer up as a greeting. She leaned on the edge of her desk and listened to other greetings that were being given. She was not one for introductions.
Stephanie went silent as she often did with people she didn't know until she got a handle on who they were. She knew of the new recruits status into the unit, she kept up with all the recent incoming and outgoing officers and enlisted alike. She made it her business, you might could say that she was nosy in that respect. She raised a brow as she waited for a response from Alex who seemed to not be paying much attention to her at the moment. Stephanie didn't actually blame the woman for not having much to say. Stephanie opened up the lap top in front of her. Time to get back to work.
