With the Goa'uld, Ori and Replicators defeated and the Wraith and Lucian Alliance on the run, the Earth and the SGC are enjoying a period of peace. Unbeknown to them, this peace is about to end. An event to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Delian Expedition is interrupted by the news that a new evil - a being referring to himself as Hades - is rising to power, and is posed to wage war on the galaxy.

Intel suggests that their enemy is related to the Olympians, a race a powerful beings who held power over the Delian Galaxy until the SGC launched an expedition which battled and defeated them. Former members of the expedition, joined by fresh new faces representing best and brightest civilian, government and military minds of Earth, return to the Delian Galaxy to finish what they started.

Stargate Delta: The Rise of Hades is a three month role play mini-series, taking place after the events of Stargate Universe and continuing the story of Stargate Delta.

Part One: Reunion
Personnel formerly assigned to the Delian Expedition gather at the SGC to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the mission being launched, with a formal ceremony held in the gateroom followed by a function upstairs in the briefing room. The festivities are interrupted by the unexpected arrival of injured personnel from the Delian Galaxy, who report that the base has just been attacked. A tower creature in dark armour follows them through the Stargate, bringing a message that the Olympian god Hades plans to wage war on the expedition and Earth as punishment for overthrowing the Olympians. The creature detonates an explosive to avoid being taken alive, severely damaging the Stargate and taking it offline. Those attending the celebration leap into action, helping to treat the wounded and get the SGC back up and running.

Deciding they must finish what they started, a task force is assembled to return to the Delian Galaxy to track down Hades and bring him to justice.

Part Two:
After arriving in the Delian Galaxy the task force splits into three groups:

• Task Group Orange remains within Akrotiri, helping to get the expedition back up and running after Hades attack, unbeknown that his forces had gained control of the city-ship's computer system and are planning to finish off the survivors of the first attack.
• Task Group Green travels to the planet Lethe, a former stronghold of Hades on a frozen world, searching for clues to his current whereabouts. 
• Task Group Red journeys to barren ashen world of D3C-525, hoping to lay a trap to capture one of Hades senior lieutenants.
